Hello.
I was quietly watching your posts here on the Moran family.
At one point in the last year I tried to look through as much Moran family information from the Northumberland area as I could easily find on the net. I started with 1851, 1861, senses and various on line birth/ marriage records. My idea was to try to piece different Moran individuals together into related families as I could. I do not feel that I was particularly successful and many new questions were raised in this quick tally of different sources. I did not go much later than 1861 as all I wanted was to find the early stuff.
My main interest was to see how many possible links I could find to the Carroll and O’Connell families in the Blackville area to those in the Chatham, Newcastle and Bartibog areas. I remember finding several early Moran families that may have been related in the Chatham area but most of this was just circumstantial guessing. If I remember correctly, It looked like there could have been several related groups of people most of whom probably arrived at Chatham, who then over the years branched out down the rivers. You may want to look in to other Moran families from the Chatham area. I would think that there are other people in the Chatham/ Newcastle area that may have a better idea on this than I do but I was curious what you were able to find on your trip to the area. I am particularly interested in Bridget Carroll and who she was related to. Do you know if they were married in Ireland or in NB? Any connection to the Carrolls in Bartibog or Blissfield?
Eric.
